The last couple weeks have been busy! Students have learned a few different applications for coding as well as learning how to write code. Students work through different levels of coding through challenge cards. The levels cover skills such as: sequences, loops, events, conditionals, functions, and variables. We have worked through sequences, loops, and events so far in our challenge cards. This makes the learning fun as well as provide them with real tasks you might ask a human to do. For example, our robots have been programmed to take out the "trash" or have a conversation. Today, students are making predictions on which coding patterns and sequences are necessary to complete a challenge. Then they put their ideas to the test. The students have learned a lot so far and will be preparing soon to create their own mission/story for our parent share night.
