Session #1: Dates: October 28- December 20 (8 weeks)
Description: Alternative Art Students will experiment with unique art-making techniques and think outside the box to create art that is beyond the norm. Students will delve into sculpture and 3-D art-making with unusual art items, create with clay, and discover art from different cultures. Students will choose a piece of their art to display in a final gallery exhibit, where students will get to share their artistic process and inspiration. ________ Session #1.5: Dates: October 28- January 30 (12-16 weeks) (Extended if accepted into Invitationals) Description: Wonder League Robotics Competition Students will compete against other students around the world in a coding competition using robots Dot and Dash. Groups will submit their 5 completed missions and attempt to qualify for the Invitational Round. ________ Session #2: Dates: January 6- February 28 (8 weeks) Description: Circuit Board Engineering Students will complete and create tasks using circuit boards—a piece of technology that assembles electrical data on a horizontal layer of material. Partner projects will be displayed at the end of the 8 weeks. ________ Session #3: Dates: March 2nd- April 24 (8 weeks) Description: Wonder Robotics. Students will use coding to accomplish task cards for Wonder Robots named Dot and Dash. Teams of 3-4 will design a cumulative coding routine to share at the end of the 8 week session.
